Anybody know the formula in Excel?
I need to calculate the length of time that could be spread over different days and / or months. For example: (Helpdesk) The ticket is opened on 02/05/08 at 12:18:17 PM and closed on 04/19/08 at 09:27:15 PM. Should be around 2 days and hours X. The formula I have so far is: = TEXT (E20-D20, "MM / HH: MM: SS"), however, is not calculating correctly on. The E20 and D20 are the selected cells. Does anyone know if Excel can do this and what the formula would be? Correction to previous statement: 2 months X days, X hours
Well, looking dates / times is certainly more than 2 days between early February and mid April … that aside …. I put both dates and times in a cell of each (in the format correct) and asked Excel to subtract from each other and then change the output format to # 's only (no date). This gave a reading of days in decimal form You can then take the part that is less than one and turn it into hours, days and hours that the example that was given to 73.9 days, which is 73 days and 21.6 hours
