Dungeons and Dragons beginner?
I wanted to start playing dungeons and dragons. How do I have to do for that? What do I need to buy and where I can buy? Also what are the d & d minis for? is that a completely separate game or are used in d & d?
When I started, I have not gone to buy a single book, instead I did a search, "D & D rules in line and gave me a website that will help with just about anything that a beginner can use. For other things, recommend redblade3.5e because it makes the creation of characters, background, statistics, stock and various other things easier. The best thing you can do as a player, is to find a playgroup that you are interested, and it's fun to hang out with, preferably one you can hang with outside of a game session. I would recommend going to yahoo groups, meetup.com, and various online communities, so that you can find a playgroup near you.
