Dungeons And Dragons Campaign Settings
Nov/090
In Dungeons and Dragons, what would you recommend as a good starting campaign for a new Dungeon Master?
I know you can make up your own, and I know you can purchase campaign settings. Perhaps you know of particularly good games available in stores or online, or just good ideas you have used in the past.
On the Wizards of the Coast website they have some good adventures you can download for free and print out. Check them out, some of them are pretty good. Some of them, however, are too straightforward “hack-n-slash” for my tastes.

If you’re talking about classic modules, my all-time favorite is T1, “The Village of Hommlet.” It’s a great combination of adventure, socialization (getting to know the people in the town), investigation (which townsfolk are actually evil cultists?), puzzle solving (what’s behind the recent unrest?), exploration (where is the source of the evil influence?) and dungeon-dwelving (once they find the source, they gotta go underground and root it out.).
