Is dungeons and dragons online like the tabletop version?
No.
The only similarities are the names of classes and monsters as well as the concepts of hit points and levels. But the rules and dynamics of tabletop are far far different (as it would have to be to make an online version playable). The list of differences far exceeds what I imagine you’d want to read. If given a choice, I’d go tabletop every time. Online gaming locks you into a repetitive role and encourages mechanical memory of your keyboard rather than imaginative and dynamic thinking.
